  15. ------------

  17. Windows 3.1 or higher running in standard or 386 enhanced mode
  18. MKS (Mortice Kern Systems) RCS version 5.1 or higher
  19.  
  20. 286 or higher machine
  21. 800x600 or larger VGA display
  22. A mouse is recommended
  23.  
  24.  
  25. It is assumed  that you are completely familiar with the common operations
  26. of MKS RCS. If you need more information on how RCS works please refer to
  27. the MKS RCS reference manual before continuing.

  31. Installation
  32. ------------

  34. To install RCS Shell for Windows, copy the files:
  35.  
  36.     winrcs.exe
  37.     rcsrun.pif
  38.     rcsrun.bat
  39.     bwcc.dll
  40.     readme.txt
  41.     winrcs.reg
  42.  
  43. to a directory in your path (e.g., c:\mks\bin).   These files
  44. must be installed in a directory contained in your path. Be sure to
  45. define the following DOS environment variables in your autoexec.bat
  46. file (required by MKS RCS):
  47.  
  48.     logname
  49.     rootdir
  50.     glob
  51.  
  52. For example:
  53.  
  54.     set logname=bill
  55.     set rootdir=c:\mks\etc
  56.     set glob=c:\mks\etc\glob.exe
  57.  
  58. Start Windows and add winrcs.exe and readme.txt to one of your
  59. Window's groups.
